Performance Tip #10: Medicine Ball Bound Toss
The purpose of this exercise is to develop power, improve triple extension (ankle, knee, hip), improve speed and acceleration, and single leg stability.
Majority of sports are spent on one foot at a time (example, running); therefore, it is important to train single leg as well as double leg. In addition, developing single leg power through triple extension is important to become more explosive through all planes of motion.
The weight of the medicine ball does not need to be heavy as you want to focus on exploding powerfully with one leg as well as landing stable on the ground.
